Applying for a Permanent Driving License (DL) in India is now a smooth and digital process. The online application system is managed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways through its official portal called Parivahan Sewa.

Who Can Apply?

Online Application Steps

Step 1: Open the Official Website

Go to the official Parivahan portal:

The portal is operated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Step 2: Choose Your State

• Click on “Online Services”
• Select “Driving License Related Services”
• Pick your State from the list

You will be redirected to your State Transport Department page.

Step 3: Begin Your Application

• Click on “Apply for Driving License”
• Enter your Learner’s License number

• Click continue

Your personal details will automatically appear on the screen.

After Approval

• The physical license will be sent to your registered address by post.
